When you travel, you don’t have to go to a specific country in order to stuff your face with awesome food from a particular country.
This happened to me here in Faro, Portugal, where I had the chance to eat Pierogi. This is a traditional Polish dish. Luckily for me, here in the hostel where I am volunteering there is a polish girl who cooked for us a polish dinner one night.
It was so gooooood! The first course was a chicken soup, which reminded me a lot of home. A lot of time passed since I had a soup like that…
But for me the main attraction, as you can see from the title, was Pierogi.
Pierogi is a dumpling made with dough and stuffed with a mix of mashed potatoes, white cheese, chorizo and onions.
The cooking itself is interesting too because first you have to boil the dumplings and after that you fry them in oil with pieces of bacon. I hope your mouth is watering right now, because mine sure is, as I am writing the review.
The pierogi is served hot with the bacon bits and that’s it. I had quite a few of them and I wanted to have more, but I was too full
If you get the chance to try these, I’m telling you: Go for it! You won’t regret it
